Each month I’ve decided to conduct a strategy review of a chosen company. This month it focusses on a relatively new startup called Badoo.
About Badoo
Badoo is a multi-lingual social networking website, managed out of its Soho, London headquarters,[3] but owned by a company in Cyprus and ultimately by Russian entrepreneur Andrey Andreev.[1][4] [5] In September 2011, The Economist wrote an article explaining how Badoo has a shot at becoming “one of Europe’s leading internet firms” [6] and that Badoo seems to have discovered a new “space”, as digital cognoscenti call a big new market.
Although available in most of the world, the site is most active in Latin America, Spain, Italy and France.[7] Badoo ranks as the 52nd most popular site in France and the 117th globally, according to Alexa Internet.[8]
In a peer-reviewed study,[9] it was given the lowest score for privacy among 45 social networking sites examined.[10]

The Review
The purpose of this review is to show what can be accomplished on an enterprise level and also why SEO is paramount to the success of every company, no exceptions. Badoo are in a unique situation. They are generating billions of page views per month, with no SEO at all. The pages that exist are not optimised for SEO and the site has been deployed with no considerations for SEO.
The report below shows how Badoo can implement a series of subtle changes that create a dramatic effect for the brand as a whole.
Other businesses that are finding they are generating a certain level of success, but feel that they can push further, can take some cues from this report to show how they can improve and measure their success.
